Every Uma has a Skill on F and a Zone on G, on top of the shared Spurt on R. Do not treat those three buttons as the same boost.
What the November 2025 guide says about uses
Zone fills when you overtake. That guide says you can fire Zone once before the final spurt and that it refreshes for the final spurt, so two Zones are possible in one race. It also says Skills are some form of dash plus the extra effects on the Uma's card. Later Umas break the "one Skill" pattern: Daiwa Scarlet, Yaeno Muteki, and Tokai Teio are documented with two Skill activations.
A November 18, 2025 article describes Zone as a meter at the bottom of the screen, a cutscene, and a large speed and stamina boost. Durations still depend on the Uma.
Read the condition before you press F
Examples that change the button press:
- Oguri Cap's November 2025 Starlight Beat wants someone ahead. A second variant wants you directly behind someone.
- Rice Shower's extra regen and the debuff on the leader need you to be behind. Using it in front skips that value, and the same guide lists a sprint delay after the Skill.
- Nice Nature's community Zone text says it only works from 3rd or worse. The page that prints this also flags missing citations.
- T.M. Opera O's Prepared to Pass is stronger with racers around you. A December 2025 description says the surround check looks at up to 4 players within 35 studs.
- Yaeno Muteki's second Fighting Spirit activation grabs a racer ahead. The first activation is an acceleration boost.
- Tokai Teio's Teio Step opens a QTE. Success raises acceleration and heals a Fracture. Failure gives a Fracture.
Do not mix dates into one number
Oguri, Tamamo, Gold Ship, Haru Urara, and Air Groove have November 2025 durations and different June 13, 2026 summaries. Those pages are both kept on the character entries. This guide does not average them. Open the Uma page and use the dated block that matches the client you are in. If the in-game tooltip disagrees with both, trust the tooltip.
Fracture
Tokai Teio introduces Fracture. Community ability notes say bad corners, debuffs, Spurts, and losing speed can apply it. A good corner heals one. It cuts a lot of speed for a moment, stacks to 3, and another stack trips you. Her Zone, Beyond The Horizon, removes Fractures when the cutscene plays at 2 or 3 stacks. Other Umas are not documented with this status.
Zone cutscenes
Tamamo Cross, Super Creek, Tokai Teio, Mejiro McQueen, and Yaeno Muteki are named as Umas with an alternate Zone animation. Yaeno's first Zone cutscene, when someone is near, creates 4 QTEs for you and the racer ahead. The winner gets a stamina and acceleration boost. The loser gets stamina drain and Heavy. With no cutscene, that Zone is full stamina regen and a moderate acceleration boost.
Pick a kit on the character list before you memorize a generic rotation.
